The Legurme Ready to Eat (Ready Meal) series has a surprisingly long shelf life of up to 36 months (3 years). Even though the meals are completely additive-free and preservative-free, they manage to stay fresh at ambient (room) temperature for so long because of their production and packaging process:Advanced Retort Packaging: They use a new-generation, multi-layer barrier pouch. The food is sealed inside the pouch and then heat-sterilized, which eliminates bacteria and keeps oxygen out. Storage: As long as the pouch remains completely sealed and undamaged, it doesn't even need to be refrigerated. You can just keep it in your pantry. ⚠️ Once Opened: If you open a pouch but don't finish it, the preservative-free aspect kicks in.
